Auckland, October 12, 2006 - Electronic Arts announced today the launch of a fully interactive, pan-Asian mini game series in anticipation of the upcoming PC title Battlefield 2142TM-the latest installment in the top-selling FPS franchise, slated for worldwide release later this month.
The Asia-exclusive campaign named "Titan Engage!" is an interactive online mini-game that offers a true Battlefield 2142TM experience on a special player site (www.titanengage.com/aus). The site is scheduled to go live today on October 12th, 2006 in 11 countries throughout Asia, including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, and India.
Participants of the mini-game must complete 6 puzzles within a thrilling time-limit of 4 minutes to obtain a code for the bomb-arming device-which is necessary to arm a bomb on the rival team's "Titan". The exclusively built puzzles consist of 3 games (Maze, Memory, and Tangram) and 3 question sections with questions created by Colin Clarke, the Worldwide Battlefield Community Manager, to ensure authenticity of the game. High scores are recorded on the high-score board for international bragging rights, and participants will also be able to send introductions to friends to visit the site and try out the games. With truly authentic music and sound effects of Battlefield 2142TM, coupled with stunning cinematic trailer that brings the experience to life, "Titan Engage!" offers a delightful entertainment that completely immerses visitors in the world of the franchise.
Developed in Stockholm, Sweden by Digital Illusions CE (DICE), Battlefield 2142TM will be available on October 20th, 2006 in New Zealand.
